It’s back! Starbucks’ highly anticipated fall menu has returned, and simultaneously, what some consider the beginning of fall. This year, Starbucks has released new drinks and snacks including an Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, an Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato and an adorable, fall themed Raccoon Cake Pop. Although it’s great to go in and order something new, we recommend knowing what to expect for some of these fall themed drinks! Here’s our honest review:
First, let’s start with a favorite that everyone knows and loves: the Pumpkin Spice Latte. We think the drink is a bit overrated for what it is, but it never fails to satisfy that fall craving. We give this drink an 8.5/10.
Next, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Although this drink has the potential to be good, the flavors were not mixed well and didn’t balance well. We give this drink a 4/10.
Now for an all time favorite, the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai. This drink is obviously going to be a 10/10. The smooth flavor of the chai mixes so well with the sweet spice of the pumpkin. This drink always tastes good and regardless of the very sweet flavor, it is extremely refreshing.
I think we can all agree that Starbucks’ chai variations have become a favorite with each flavor bringing a unique taste. The Ice Apple Crisp Cream Chai has a satisfying and flush flavor that falls right in between a sweet treat and a strong brewed cup of coffee. The apple flavor compliments the drink well, and it creates a refreshing and smooth drink. We give this drink a 7/10.
Next is the new Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. This drink is going to rank very low for us. The flavors did not taste good together and it was very bitter compared to other drinks due to artificial tastes. Other shaken espresso flavors have a nice taste to them, but this one just was awful and very disappointing. We give this item a 2/10.
The Oat Milk Apple Crisp Macchiato is new this year as well. Other reviews have stated it’s one of the best items on the menu, but we’d have to say otherwise. Although yes, the drink itself is refreshing and will leave you satisfied, it is nowhere near what we thought it would be. The drink itself had much more of a coffee flavor rather than the “Apple Crisp” we were hoping to get. For others, this may be a great mixed brewed macchiato, but we expected more flavor. We give this item a 4/10.
The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin never disappoints when wanting a warm, creamy muffin. The cream cheese and moist consistency of the muffin will make you feel fall vibes and feelings. This muffin is always a good option no matter what time of day and will fill you up with its rich in flavor. We give this muffin a 10/10.
Another new menu item is the Apple Baked Croissant. Although yes, you can never go wrong with a cup of coffee and a sweet piece of bread, this croissant was disappointing. The bread itself was dry and almost flavorless. It had a filling in the middle made of sweet, caramelized apples, which was the best part. We hate to say it, but this earns the rating of a 3/10.
Finally, we have the cutest of all: the Raccoon Cake Pop. This adorable treat will definitely put a smile on your face. Our only complaint on this treat is while it is fall themed in its looks, the taste is very plain and simple. The filling on this cake pop is just a simple vanilla and doesn’t match up with the rest of the fall menu. While yes, the cake pop is very delicious, it isn’t on theme taste wise. We give this treat a 5/10.
Overall, this menu was very delicious and got us in the mood for fall! We cannot wait for our next review in December!
