Hi, How Are You week is a week long reminder to support mental health. The school promotes this week’s message by organizing theme days to remind students of their self worth and to discourage bullying.
Popcorn on Tuesday– On Tuesday, free popcorn was provided at lunch. This day encouraged students to check in on their friends to see how they’re doing.
Fidgets on Wednesday– On Wednesday, the Student Council passed out fidgets to help students focus and reduce their stress.
Break the Ice day on Thursday– On Thursday, Jeremiah’s Italian ice was catered in the courtyard during Leopard Time. This day promoted breaking the ice and getting to know someone new.
Sticky notes on Friday– On Friday, reassuring sticky notes were placed all over the commons and a video on how to acknowledge bullying was played in homeroom Leopard Time. The purpose of this day was to discourage bullying and promote values of self confidence and self worth.
Mental health weeks remind students that simple actions can make someone’s day. These weeks allow students to open up and recognise that taking care of your mind and body are important. Supporting mental health doesn’t just mean a fun theme week for the school, It also means getting the chance to check up on your friends, be kind to others, and speak up. Weeks like this create a sense of community where everyone feels supported and loved. Going into the rest of the school year, remember to carry on all of the lessons taught during this week and why they are so important.
