Boy Meets World… and a spin-off

Disney is sure reviving a ton of franchises these days. Star Wars, Indiana Jones…and now, Boy Meets World!

Yes, the hit TV show, which dealt with a high school student named Corey and his exploits in high school, will return in a spin-off show called “Girl Meets World”, which will deal with Corey’s daughter. The show will air on the Disney Channel sometime in 2013, and will retain the original cast. Reportedly, “Boy Meets World” reruns will return to Disney Channel sometime early in the new year to prepare for the debut of this epic spin-off.

As a big fan of the show, this news fills me with joy, though I hope this doesn’t wind up like other failed franchise revivals (i.e. Scream 4, American Reunion) that tried to show the main characters of a certain series all grown up. Still, the show’s world is so fun to watch, it’s hard to imagine the show being a total bust. Plus, with “Arrested Development” returning next year as well, it’s a good time for quality TV shows to return.

Now, while we’re on the topic of reviving beloved TV shows, could we try to get “Firefly”, “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and “Mystery Science Theatre 3000” back onto Television?
