JMBLYA will occur at Fair Park in Dallas on May 3. TRL will give away two tickets to a qualified student.

The seventh annual JMBLYA Festival will return to Fair Park in Dallas on May 3. The gate will open at 12 p.m. rain or shine. Each year, a range of artists are invited to perform. The Red Ledger will be doing a giveaway for two tickets through Twitter.

This year’s line-up includes Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Bhad Bhabie, Blueface and more. In order to enter TRL’s giveaway, Lovejoy students must retweet the tweet with the link to this story attached and post a picture with your favorite teacher explaining why they are the student’s favorite teacher using the #JMBLYA2019.

All entries must be submitted before 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 21. TRL will announce the winner on Twitter Monday, April 22.

Carly Ludlow
Carly Ludlow, Staff Writer
Junior Carly Ludlow was born and raised in Texas. She is new to The Red Ledger staff this year, but she was first introduced to journalism her sophomore year and has loved it ever since. Outside of the newsroom, you can find her on the basketball court. Carly loves to play basketball, hang out with her friends, and be with her family. She has a love for food whether that’s cooking, baking, or even just eating it. She also loves to travel. She will go anywhere and everywhere in the world. Carly and her family have enjoyed beaches and mountains. They’ve seen it all. She looks forward to a great year as a staff writer for The Red Ledger.
Shae Daugherty
Shae Daugherty, Section Editor
It’s Daug·herty, /Dortee/, Daugherty. It’s not that hard. Coaches never get it wrong, and that may have been what drove her to sports photography in the first place. When she isn’t leaving sticky notes all over the newsroom, she’s in the heart of the sideline with a few cameras and a small bag of SD cards. She spends nearly all her time with the Sideline Team, causing trouble or residing in the studio. Her favorite part of football season is the two hours before any game, when the photographers go to dinner, or at least they try to. Shae’s sustained many injuries during her five year run as a sports photographer due to her inability to see players charging at her. Ironically, the Photo Editor is legally blind, and will crack numerous blind jokes, at the disapproval of one Benjamin Nopper. Her goal this year is for The Red Ledger to finally win the Pacemaker, and nothing will stand in her way. Coming in right at 5’10”, she certainly doesn’t need heels, but she wouldn’t be caught dead without them. Let her leave you with this one piece of advice–keep your heels, head and standards high.
