National Signing Day will occur in the main gym Nov. 14 during 8th period.

To honor student-athletes committing to colleges, the Lovejoy Athletic Department will recognize their accomplishments at the National Collegiate Athletic Organization (NCAA) signing on Nov. 14.

“It is an honorary thing for us to recognize those who are intending to attend a school for, in this particular case, typically athletic purposes,” Vice Principal Bruce Coachman said.

The ceremony will take place in the main gym during 8th period. By signing, students are able to continue their academic studies while having the opportunity to continue their sports careers at a collegial level.

“It’s an incredible privilege to play for a college at any division,” senior Allie Bianchi said. “For me, it is an opportunity to become a greater version of myself and be surrounded by a coach and team that support me and make my college experience unforgettable.”

Students that will be recognized include Bianchi, Jake Chamberlin, Rebecca Holiman, Celeste Soliz, Michelle Foster, Liana Guillermaud, Madison Waters and Emma White.

Even with a million and one things swirling around her mind newspaper has always been an outlet to help her to slow down and take everything in one day at a time.
Kaitlin Anderson
Kaitlin Anderson, Graphic Designer
Beginning her fourth and final year on staff, senior Kaitlin Anderson is excited to finish off her final year with her favorite TRL family. After joining a journalism class in the seventh grade, Anderson quickly found an opportunity to express her creativity through graphics and has used her passion for it ever since. Outside of class, Anderson spends most of her time rodeoing or helping with FFA show cows. Most people consider rodeo as a hobby, but in her own words, “it’s a lifestyle.” She enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves overcoming challenges that life presents to her. She's eager to conquer her last year of high school and take on what the great world beyond it has to offer.
