With a storm system moving towards the area and the potential for severe weather, many students are having their parents check them out early. But as of 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, the school has no plans for an early release.

In light of the devastation from Monday’s tornado in Oklahoma, and with the potential for more severe weather, school officials are closely monitoring the story system moving towards North Texas. A tornado drill was conducted this morning, but there are currently no plans for an early release.

The Red Ledger’s Darby Blaylock caught up with assistant principal Bruce Coachman for the latest.

Greetings children. My name is Darby Darton Blaylock. I am 17 years old. I have been apart of the newspaper staff for 6 years now. I enjoy it for the most part. I love to fish and be outside. I will not watch any Nicholas Sparks movies. Ever. I listen to older rock, alternative music, and a little country here and there. I play soccer for Andromeda FC, and for the school. I am scared of ladybugs because when I was 5 I swear one bit me. I am a morning person, and I was voted most likely to wear track-shorts.
