Majestic officers junior Gina Peoples and senior Alexa Barajas organize costumes. The Majestics will be performing their annual spring show this weekend.

The Majestics will perform their annual spring showcase Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. The Majestics have been preparing since February.

Spring show is something that we are working towards all year,” director Jacklyn Simone said. “The Dance officers and I begin with theme ideas and development in the summer and continue throughout the fall and early spring. However, it becomes our main focus at the end of February following our Contest Season.”

The theme of this year’s show is “This Is Our Time,” and focuses on the effects of COVID-19 through dance.

“The inspiration for all the spring show pieces is the Majestics coming together after so much hardship and difficulty to celebrate each other and moving forward into the future,” senior Alex McCaffity said.

The Majestics amended their rules throughout the year because of COVID-19 and have used the changes to help their show.

“I believe that COVID-19 regulations have inspired the team this year because with what is going on, we never know when a performance could be taken away, junior member Makenzie Aubel said. “We have been lucky enough to have all of our performances so far, but because of COVID-19, we perform like every performance could be our last.”

Tickets for the show will go on sale today at 10 a.m. on the district website.

“We’ve had a lot of difficulty to overcome, but it makes us want to work that much harder to make what we can do the best it can be,” senior member Alex McCaffity.
