With prom being only one week away, it’s time for juniors and seniors to vote for Prom King and Queen. However, instead of voting with paper ballots at the dance, this year voting will take place online at www.voting4schools.com/lovejoy. The polls opened Thursday, May 9 and will run through Sunday, May 12.

To log in, students should enter their school ID number for the User ID section, and their last name for the password.

“It’s more efficient to do it online,” junior class president Alex Hopkinson said. “It’s just easier to count the votes, and there’s absolutely no way anyone could vote twice.”

The nominees for Prom King are Kyle Berger, Matt Bilke, Jonathon Otiker, Alex Pages, Arun Sethi, Pedro Vaquera, and Noah Wallaert. Prom Queen nominees are Nicole Andrews, Bailey Martin, Hannah Otiker, Brycen Raybon, Nicolette Stoddart, and Abby Walstad. The winner will be announced at the dance on May 18.

In addition to voting for King and Queen, prom week festivities will include the following spirit days:

Monday, May 13- Urkel Day

Tuesday, May 14- Tacky Day

Wednesday, May 15- 80s Day

Thursday, May 16- Twin Day with date or College Shirt Day

Friday, May 17- Prom Shirt Day

Luckily for mankind, Liz has never experienced free time, as this tragic event has yet to occur. Thrilled to have one last year’s worth of Modern Epic Poems to write (self-proclaimed epics by the modern definition, not by literary standards), Liz is ready to embark on her third consecutive year as editor of The Red Ledger and looks forward to everything her wonderful, dedicated, bacon-crazed staff will accomplish.
