Senior lip dub details announced

Senior+lip+dub+details+announced

A tradition was formed last year when the broadcast program put together a lipdub video for the senior class. Last year’s dub was a mash up of “All-Star” by Smash Mouth, “All the Small Things”, by Blink 182, and “Wannabe”, by The Spice Girls.

“We are doing the lip dub as a fun end of year activity for seniors,” broadcast student Ashlyn Hoppe said. “With the school being new and the broadcast program being new, we wanted to start a tradition for seniors and for the broadcast crew.”

This year’s lip dub will be filmed on Friday, May 25 during 5th and 6th periods and will consist of all seniors. Seniors who would like to be featured in the dub should talk to broadcast advisor Brian Higgins in room E103.

“We are looking for students who basically have no shame– who will be stupid, silly, ridiculous on camera and get people excited about this,” broadcast advisor Brian Higgins said.

This year, however, the lip dub will only be one song, The Time by the Black Eyed Peas. Another change to the dub this year is the addition of more decorations.

“We are definitely trying to do a lot more decorations and costumes and props this year,” Hoppe said. “This year we definitely started planning a lot earlier than we did last year.”

Ginger Hervey, Editor-in-chief
Ginger Hervey cried on her eleventh birthday when she didn't get a Hogwarts letter. If there was an Olympic event for sitting around in sweatpants, eating ice cream, and watching old romance movies, she would make her country proud. She is an expert at procrastination and overloads her schedule past what any rational person would- as a result, she frequently tests how little sleep a teenager can get and still function on a basic level. To her, there is no such thing as "too old to trick-or-treat" on Halloween. To instantly be liked by Ginger, bring her chocolate chip cookies and/or mention the TV show How I Met Your Mother. She is a senior who, in spite of having ambitious plans of going to law school, can be found on weekends experimentally baking with her friends and watching Disney movies until she falls asleep on the couch. Entering her sixth and final year of high school newspaper, Ginger is thrilled to have such a dedicated and fun staff to work with, especially her co-editor, the sensational Liz Schasel. She hopes to leave a legacy of prestigious journalism and witty poll questions behind her.
