Sleet and ice remained throughout the area on Monday night, leading to the school district being closed for the second straight day on Tuesday.

Below freezing temperatures, combined with an accumulation of nearly two inches of sleet left the Lovejoy ISD closed for the second straight day Tuesday.

Weather forecasts are predicting the possibility of snow early Wednesday morning but with temperatures expected to rise to above 40 degrees by Wednesday afternoon, any accumulation is not expected to last long. However, any warm weather break could be short lived as more snow could arrive some time Friday.
