The 47th Cracker Barrel in Texas is set to open in July of this summer. Located in Allen on Exchange Parkway near Walmart and across from Allen Presbyterian Hospital, the newest addition to the local dining scene is already a favorite of many students.
“My family has always stopped at Cracker Barrel whenever we passed one,” junior Braxton Mayfield said. “The food is great, plus it’s a family tradition.”
Not only does Cracker Barrel offer a wide variety of country style cooking, it also features an “Old Country Store” in the front section of the restaurant with games, candy, store merchandise, and many other forms of entertainment.
“The store has everything you can imagine,” junior Courtney DuVal said. “I always shop for something after I eat.”
The hiring process is currently underway and there is a high interest among students in applying to the restaurant.
“I have to get a job this summer and Cracker Barrel is definitely a big consideration for me,” sophomore Lizzy Riley said.
Although the opening is set for July, the date is subject to change due to unexpected construction delays.
