Prom season is here, and with it comes lots of preparation. Tuxes need to be rented, corsages must be bought, and limos have to be booked. But for many girls, finding the right dress is the most important part of the prom experience.
“Oh, the dress is definitely the most important part,” senior Meagan Thompson said. “The dress helps wrap everything about prom together.”
But many have found that shopping for a dress is also not easy, as well as pricey. Because of this, the perfect dress might be out of reach. This is where the Allen ACO came in, collecting over 500 new and used prom dresses to help benefit teens in need, and give them the prom of their dreams. The non-profit shop also collected tuxes and jewelry for prom, and are open to the public to purchase.
“I think this is a great idea,” senior Emily Hagedorn said. “If I knew about this before, I would have looked for a dress there instead.”
The dresses range from five to twenty dollars, and anybody, can come in and purchase your perfect dress, no matter the financial situation. The resale shop is open 1pm-6pm on Mondays, and 10am to 6pm Tuesdays through Saturdays.
