Cool ranch flavor falls flat

People say that, with Taco Bell, you either love it or you hate it.  This girl is definitely in the first category. If it’s from Taco Bell, I love it. Even if I haven’t ever tried it, or I hate beef that way, or it sounds gross, I’m telling you I love it.

So, you can imagine how hard it is for me to write this: On March 6, Taco Bell released its newest taco creation: the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco.  I’m not a fan.

As I ordered my taco, the cashier actually laughed at me because of the anticipation in my voice and the grin on my face. However, after I swallowed the first bite, the disappointment hit.

Maybe it was just the way I’d been counting down the day to it’s release, and building it up in my head, and imagining how delicious it would taste. Maybe I just had overly-high expectations. But the taco was not my favorite.

Compared to it’s predecessor, the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco, the Cool Ranch has so much less flavor. It didn’t feel like I was eating a taco wrapped up in scrumptious flavored nachos. It felt like I was eating a taco with too much salt on the tortilla. I’d take the next bite expecting it to hold more flavor, more Dorito, but it never did. I drove away one taco hungrier, wishing I had spent my buck on a more reliable taco.

Don’t get me wrong: if someone brings me one, I will scarf down the Cool Ranch taco with no regrets. A taco’s a taco, especially if it’s a Taco Bell taco. But I’m not going to pay $1.50 for it again. I’ll stick to the tacos I know I’ll always get satisfaction from: the crunchy taco, soft taco, and, of course, the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco.

Stephanie Thomson is a girl of few interests. She never listens to decent music. So if you like good music, don’t talk to her about it. Movies are not her slice of bread. You like good movies? Hey. Just keep it to yourself. Holy tamole! She’s on the Majestics Dance Team as Senior Class Representative! WOW! Just keep moving, children, there’s nothing to talk about here. Her Twitter is usually embarrassing jokes that only she would ever find funny, and she’s never ever made an Instagram video. If you’re one of the select few who follow her, you should talk to her about it. Just kidding. Don’t talk to her about that. Or anything else. Have the hots for her sexy Toyota Camry? You know she does! So don’t even bother asking her. This story doesn’t have a moral, so *insert deep and resounding question here*.
