A dollar is all you need to see the Allen Revolutions arena football team begin its season Thursday against the North Texas Crunch.
“We want to fill the Allen Event Center for this game,” Revolution’s General Manager and Co-Owner Tim Brown said in an interview with oursports.com. “I know that if fans give us a first look, they will want to come back to ensure the success of our team.”
In addition to discounted tickets, opening night at the Allen Event Center will include a pre-game fireworks show, free t-shirts to the first 1,000 fans into the arena, and a halftime performance by the Amazing Red Panda, all compliments of CiCi’s Pizza.
Co-Owner Tommy Benizio, who is also the president and CEO of the team, feels the same as Brown.
“Every darn seat is going to be sold for that first game,” Benizio said to Star Local News. “We are going to be proud when that happens and we’ll put on a show.”
The opening-game $1 ticket promotion is important for the Revolution as they are replacing an Allen Wranglers franchise that went through two owners, multiple head coaches and struggled with poor attendance over the past two years.
The attendance of the Allen Wranglers game was not impressive inspite of the fact that former Dallas Cowboys players Terrell Owens was on the team.
The Revolution hope to bring in a big crowd with their $1 and their partnership with CiCi’s Pizza.
The game starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Allen Event Center.
