Smiles grew as hearts sang at the sixth grade Sloan Creek Middle school choir concert at LHS Thursday night.
Choir teachers Christina Chapman and Clint Fleming with accompanist Brooke Grall led the sixth grade choir through a series of warm-ups, reading examples and songs for the community.
The group started out the night with warm-ups used in class to show parents how they perform in and out of the classroom.
After this the students did a sight reading example for the crowd. During this segment the students were passed out sight reading sheets completely new to them to perform.
Lastly the students sang five songs. These songs included “Soda Pop Cans”, “Yonder Come Day”, “Sesere Eeye”, “Ching a Ring Chaw”, and a song particularly favored by students “A La Carte”. “A La Carte” is considered a fun song by students and is about the composer Mozart.
Overall, most students, parents and teachers were delighted with the sixth grade choir concert.
