Jumping into movie theatres worldwide, the revamped comedy of the 90s TV show, 21 Jump Street that stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill hit theatres Friday, March 19.
Two opposites like Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are a commanding duo who cover all the stops. The storyline is based on two police officers; Schmidt(Hill) and Jenko(Tatum), not the smartest group of police officers but an entertaining one to audiences.
When Jenko and Schmidt fail to inform their first arrest victims of their rights, the two are transferred to the undercover unit coincidentally on 21 Jump Street. Once there, they receive their first undercover mission: go back to high school and find out who the drug dealers are.
Schmidt and Jenko attended their first experience of high school together and graduate in the year of 2005. Jenko was the typical jock and Schmidt was a chemistry nerd. Shocking, when the two police officers go undercover and enter high school one again the roles are reversed. Jenko as the chemistry nerd while Schmidt is the kid everyone seems to love.
The two keep the audience laughing with their interesting choice of words and actions. Aside from the life of a high school student, the mission stays clear and leaves audiences shocked with the finale and the revelation of the “producer of the drug.” The language is profane and there are several moments of nudity, but moviegoers have to expect that due to the R rating.
All in all, it is an intriguing way to entertain people, and keeps audiences laughing from the beginning to end. From hardcore drug-chasing to asking a girl to Prom, Tatum, Hill, and the directors pull out all the stops to get a good laugh, and in return got 35 million on opening weekend.
