Post-game:

The Red Ledger: What is your favorite part about playing basketball?

Tate Ziemkiewicz: Seeing myself and my teammates grow as a team and push ourselves to get better everyday.

TRL:What does a day in a life of a basketball player look like

ZM: We wake up early. Sometimes we wake up really early if we have morning practice. We head to school and go through a full day of school. After school, it’s time for basketball practice or maybe a game. That’s a couple of hours of drills, scrimmages, and conditioning. Post-practice, we sometimes have a team meeting or film session to review plays and scout the teams we are playing. Then if you have any homework you finish that. Lastly once you finish your homework you shower and go to sleep early.

TRL: What challenges does basketball bring?

ZM: One challenge our team has gone through this year is staying mentally strong. For example, we started off 1-7 and some people had doubts and had negative thoughts about our team, but our leadership from our seniors helped us keep pushing and now we have a high chance of making the playoffs.

TRL: What are some positive aspects that basketball brings to your life?

ZM: I think basketball provides a lot of strengths but one of them is being a communicator and being vocal and talking to my team about everything going on and off the court and being more vocal has really helped me.

TRL: What are some memories you have from basketball?

ZM: Some of my best basketball memories are simple but they stick with you for example me hanging out with the seniors last year and getting food with the team is something small but you have to cherish it because just like that the seniors alreadly are graduating and you miss them and wish you could spend more time with them.
