An expected 150 puppies will be on campus at Hart Elementary School Friday-Sunday as part of the annual Lone Star Puppy Roundup. The Roundup is sponsored by Lone Star Guide Dog Raisers, a group of volunteers that raise puppies as service dogs for the blind.

The conference is for a non-profit organization, Lone Star Puppy Raisers, and club leaders will be signing off on service hours for those students volunteering.

“The meeting is for all raisers across Texas, so it is just good to see other people who are doing it and we also get to meet people who have worked with the dogs when they’re older,” senior Olivia Fowler said. “I think it is just a good motivator and it’s cool to see the organization come together.”
