Tryouts for Majestics are the second week of December and there are some things you should know before they begin.
Who can try out?
- Any girl in grades nine through eleven.
What exactly is involved in the tryout process?
- Outside judges are brought in to evaluate each girl. The girls tryout in groups. The tryout involves a dance routine, walk kicks, jump kicks, and splits.

- Good flexibility for high kicks
- A variety of dance training in jazz and ballet technique, as well as contemporary, hip hop, and novelty.

How the judges decide who makes it?
- Each girl is scored in several different areas, from flexibility and memory to jazz technique and showmanship. Each area has a certain number of “potential points”, and the girl must earn an 80 or higher cumulative score to be on the team.
How can I prepare?
- There are two Prep Classes you should attend if you’re interested in trying out: November 29 and December 6, after school from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. These can help you see if you would like being a Majestic.
When are tryouts?
- There is a 3-day tryout workshop after school December 10-12, during which you will learn the tryout routine. Tryouts will take place Thursday, December 13 in the evening.
Is there anything else you need to know?
