The Choir Department presented its Winter Concert last Saturday, December 10. The concert was one of the various attractions of the annual Fine Arts Festival.
This year the concert featured a much more diverse repertoire than ever before, with songs ranging from all over the globe. The upbeat Nigerian Christmas carol Betelehemu had the audience on their feet. The choir incorporated a clapping pattern while they sang, which brightened the mood of the audience.
Other highlights of the concert were the Irish folk song Dulaman and the Concert Women’s rendition of Santa Baby.
As part of the tradition, the concert ended with the epic Hallelujah Chorus where past Choir alumni, parents and anyone who knows the song were welcomed to sing with the choir on stage.
The next concert will be in the spring and will feature the pieces the choir will take to the UIL competition, where they will be judged.
