Our school has some of the most decorated and well-developed Fine Arts programs in the state. These programs foster a passion in the students that encourages them to pursue music outside the classroom. Senior Will McInerney is one of these students. He sings, plays guitar and even writes his own music. His style is comparable to John Mayer; meaningful lyrics accompanied by acoustic guitar. Over this past summer, McInerney performed at Saxby’s and opened for Modern Convicts, a band made up of fellow school musicians. This school year, McInerney plans to develop an album of his own original music for his senior project, and to continue performing at local concerts and events. McInerney is not the only student musician on our campus. Modern Convicts is a rock band made up of Lovejoy students Rhys Woodruff, Dylan Bain and Josh Fisher, as well as non-Lovejoy student, Cameron Schafer. This past summer they played house shows and performed at Arnetic, a music club for local bands. This upcoming year they hope to continue performing and getting their music out for more people to hear.
