New year, new assistant coach

In the past three years, the tennis team has experienced three different assistant coaching changes. The most recent of these changes has brought Will Davis to the district. A transfer from an assistant coaching job at Big Spring, a 3A school near Abilene, he will also be teaching PALS and P.E. at Sloan Creek Middle School.

Both Davis and head coach Adam Cherry graduated from McMurry University. While they both played tennis for the University, their age difference prevented them from being able to play together.

Davis is ecstatic for the opportunity to work with one of the top three 3A tennis teams in Texas. The athletes’ motivation and determination give each and every practice 110%, which was not something Davis experienced at Big Spring.
