Coleman Reaugh: Being a freshman on varsity has been a goal of mine for many years. When Coach Dodge asked me, I was very excited to prove myself and represent my team on varsity.
TRL: How long have you been playing football for?
CR: I have been playing football for as long as I can remember. I’ve been playing tackle football since 2nd grade. I’ve always played since I was really young and got into it from watching the NFL with my dad. Football is one of my greatest passions and has brought me many friendships.
TRL: What is your weekly practice routine?
CR: We practice Mondays after school. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we practice before school, starting around 5:15. On Thursday, we have walk-throughs during fourth period. Friday is gameday!
TRL: What is your favorite thing about playing football?
CR: My favorite thing about football is how it brings the team together and creates a sense of community with how many friends you make. Celebrating with my team after a touchdown is the best feeling.
TRL: What are your goals for the season?
CR: My first goal for the season would be to win the district championship. My second goal is play during Thanksgiving break in the third round and eventually to get to state. Also, a future goal is to play college football.
TRL: What has been your biggest challenge this season and how did you overcome it?
CR: My biggest challenge was me breaking my hand during summer and getting surgery. It was challenging because I had to take time off. I worked on catching with my opposite hand and running. I overcame it by really working on my rehab and being mentally strong through it.
TRL: What is your best memory playing football?
CR: My best memory was making varsity as a freshman. I felt really proud because all my hard work and training paid off.
