On Oct. 4, H-E-B was wrapped with a line of people waiting to get into the infamous grocery store on its grand opening. The Texas-based chain grocery store opened in Allen at 6am, and shoppers rushed to get their hands on the famous items. The 117,000-square-foot store features curbside pickup and delivery, True Texas BBQ, Sushiya Sushi, a pharmacy and much more.
H-E-B is regarded as the best grocery store in Texas, so North Texas residents were ecstatic when they found out a location was coming close to home. H-E-B is highly ranked as a place to work, thanks to great benefits and a strong company culture. Customer service is also highly esteemed as they maintain a clean store, great produce, meat and the employees I’ve met are happy.
H-E-B was originally a small family owned store created in 1905 in Kerrville, Texas. H-E-B’s founder, Florence Butt, opened the small grocery store with just $60. Her son, Howard Butt, took over in the 1920s and expanded it across Texas. Today, H-E-B serves families all over Texas and Mexico with more than 420 stores.
H-E-B is picking up the pace with opening new stores in the DFW area. The popular grocery store chain plans to start building stores in Prosper, Melissa and Rockwall within the next few years. I recently visited the new Allen location for the first time, and I would say they really have everything.
From fresh produce, seafood, dairy, meats, cheeses and a bakery; H-E-B has it all. They also have a home section including their own apparel, cosmetics products and original H-E-B brand products. To top it all off, they have their own barbecue company, True Texas BBQ which competes with some of the best BBQ restaurants.
H-E-B has many brand products to offer, ranging from beverages to food and even ice cream. H-E-B is most popular for their fresh flour tortillas. They have a super soft texture, and when cooked, they have the perfect crispiness and softness we all enjoy. They are even more delicious when filled with your favorite meats and toppings. However, my personal favorite item H-E-B sells is their raspberry lemonade. It has the perfect mix of sour and sweetness that everyone looks for in a good lemonade.
H-E-B is one of the fastest growing grocery store chains, and it is very unique to say the least. The staff values customer service and commitment. They are here to improve their customers’ lives by providing high-quality food and showing up at times when needed. With everything they have to offer, you will not be disappointed.
