Fantastic four First off, just like (multiple time) previously mentioned Firefighters of Lucas, the formatting of the story is to die for. It breaks up the story in such a visually pleasing way that is not overwhelming to the reader. I also love the details Lily includes in each story from the sound of the gun to the weight of her legs, scanning of the competition and feeling of the shoelaces. The first paragraph in each girl’s section combining to make a story is what makes this story really stand out.

Senior Goodbye: Perfect imperfections: I absolutely love the fact that Ryan’s column is all formed around his camera roll. I think that is such a creative take on a senior column and I just wanted to see all of the photos he was referencing embedded. Ryan made me feel all sorts of emotions with this piece and I especially loved the contrasting of his different character traits. Ryan consistently kills it with the A&E stories but now I wish he wrote more columns all year long.

Photo Gallery: Senior signing day: I love all of Olivia’s photo galleries but I especially love this one because of the emotion she captures, Signing day is a big day for the athletes and Olivia did them justice with the detail shots of the decorated tables to the laughs shared during slideshows to the mini photoshoots that follow the signing. I think the fact that the majority of the signees played volleyball together and were therefore very close work in Olivia’s favor as the emotions and connection the girls share is that much bigger for her to capture – and she did.

Review: Valentines Day runs on Dunkin’:  This review makes it into my favorites list purely because of how fun it was to produce. I mean come on, taste testing coffee and donuts for school?? How does it get any better than that? I also love graphics, multimedia is my favorite part of our site and I think our graphics are always so fun and engaging. This one is no different, Hannah made the Valentines themed ratings super cute to look at and easily understandable.

Featured Athlete: Adam Eschler: This Featured Athlete just makes me laugh and a good laugh will always leave a good impression with me. Doig asks Eschler great questions that allow for Adam to go into great depths with his answer and Adam did just that so kudos to both of them. Adam answers the different questions offered to him in what feels like a different approach to each; one answer will make me laugh, one will make me smile and one will make me think. Doig did a great job at asking lesser used Featured Athlete questions as they can sometimes get to be redundant across athletes.
