A coat drive for the less fortunate is being hosted by the Majestics in cooperation with Allen Community Outreach this week. The drive, which started on Dec. 3, lets students donate coats and jackets in the Commons.
The drive was organized by the social team of the junior Majestics and senior sergeants. Majestic master sergeant Audrey Supan said the group focuses on serving in one big community event each month.
“We wanted to do a coat drive because there is always a need for coats and warm winter clothing even if it is not prevalent in the area we live in,” Supan said.
This winter is expected to be very cold, so people need jackets. The drive will end on Friday. Students interested in donating can hang their used winter attire on the coat rack near the nurse’s office.
