Music will fill Heritage Ranch as the marching band performs at the annual HOA holiday parade on Saturday, Dec. 12. For the second time, the school band has been asked to perform in the Heritage Ranch parade.

“We were asked by the community members of Heritage Ranch to play at the parade.  We have played in this parade before, but it has been several years,” said assistant band director, Nathan Lewis. “It usually falls on the same date as the Lovejoy Fine Arts Festival and Region Auditions which prevents us from participating on a regular basis.”

The band will start marching in the parade at 10:30 a.m. The parade will continue until 11 a.m.

“We will play some of our football stand tunes, the fight song, and have the drumline play as we march,” said band director Paul Heuer.

The parade will be located halfway around the scenic route circle, which is about one mile. It is stretching from Ocean Drive to the Clubhouse.

“We choose the Lovejoy band to perform at the parade because the relationship we’ve had with Lovejoy ISD over the years,” said Eric Hoyle, community events director for Heritage Ranch. “It is absolutely welcome to anyone who wants to watch it. It isn’t just for the residents at Heritage Ranch.”

The band has been preparing for all their holiday events, such as the Fine Arts Festival and the parade for the past few weeks. They were also working hard and preparing for the all region auditions that took place on Dec. 5.
