During the summer, students have a great amount of down time for activities such as video games. Below is a list of the top 5 best games released this summer.

Now that summer has ended and school has started again, here is a short list of the top five games that came out this summer.

  1.  Rare Replay (Xbox One)

Rare Replay is a collection of more than 30 games published by the company Rare and its predecessor. Some of the more well known games include Battletoads, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark  and Conker’s Bad Fur Day. All the games have updated resolutions, graphics and framerate that make this game the perfect way to play all of these old games for cheap.

  1. Fallout Shelter (Android, IOS)

Fallout Shelter is a new mobile game based on the universe of the beloved Fallout series. Players are tasked with building their own vault and trying to keep all of the residents happy. The gameplay is addicting and fun, but the best part is that the developers decided to not force you to buy anything to make the game enjoyable.

  1. Splatoon (Wii U)

Splatoon was released in May and is one of the few third-party games to come out on the Wii U this year. Splatoon is a third-person shooter, but unlike other shooters on the market, it focuses on other objectives besides killing the other team. Games are fast-paced, easy-to-get-into and addicting. The art style is new and engaging, plus the gameplay is  fresh and entertaining.

  1.  The Witcher 3 (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

The Witcher 3 was released back in May to universal critical acclaim. The graphics are amazing, the game world huge, and the story engrossing and incredibly detailed. The developer, CD Projekt RED, claims that to complete the entire game would take well over 100 hours of playtime.

  1. Rocket League (PC, PS4)

Rocket League is a PC and PS4 exclusive that was released back in June. Since its release, gamers have been going crazy over it. Rocket League is a game that combines soccer and remote-controlled (RC) cars. Players can play on teams ranging from one person on each team to four against four to play a game of soccer by controlling rocket-propelled RC cars. Games are only five minutes long and the fast-paced feeling will make this game downright addicting, especially when playing with friends.
