Swimmers and wrestlers return from State

The state wrestling meet in Garland Feb. 20-21 saw four Leopard wrestlers compete with freshman Abby Eaton finishing with a 2-2 record.

School records were set and individual performances bested as two swimmers and four wrestlers represented the school at the state swim meet in Austin and the state wrestling meet in Garland Feb. 20-21.

Senior Drew Carson set a school record and finished 5th in the 100 butterfly and 11th in the 200 freestyle, single-handedly leading the Leopards to a 29th place team finish on the boys side, better than 26 other schools.

Competing in just one event, senior Rachel Vaughn finished 12th in the 100 breaststroke, for a team result of 41st out of 52 schools.

Freshman Abby Eaton led the Leopard wrestling program with a 2-2 record with Patrick Jones, Connor Haden and Thomas Elvin also competing.
