Tonight at 7 p.m. the Lady Leopards take on the Aledo Bearcats in the state semi-final match at the Curtis Caldwell center in Garland. Aledo has an overall record of 41-8 with a national ranking of 102 and a state ranking of 22 (via Maxpreps).

In the first four rounds of the playoffs, the Bearcats have beaten Trimble Tech, Rider, Lake Dallas, and Randall all in three games. In the regional final, Aledo beat Granbury in five games (26-28, 25-20, 19-25, 25-15, 15-10) to advance to the state tournament.

Look for sophomore middle hitter Madison Goings to be a main contributor for the Bearcats tonight. Throughout the playoffs, Goings has had 69 kills and 29 blocks. Goings has developed into the Bearcat’s go-to player this season.

Also, expect senior libero Tyler Lucas to provide Aledo with a reliable source of defense tonight. Lucas has racked up 119 digs and 29 dig errors this postseason.

If the Leopards win tonight, they will face the winner of A&M Consolidated and Dripping Springs on Saturday, November 22 at 4:30 p.m.
