The dead walk onto the screen

Fans of the first season as well as newbies will enjoy revisiting the world of Telltale’s apocalypse.

The Walking Dead, done by Telltale Games, was one of the best games to come out of 2012. This year, Telltale releases the second part to its widely successful game based off of the comic book, The Walking Dead: Season 2.  For those not familiar with game, the show, or the comic book, the main premise is that of a post-apocalyptic world in which people who die and  come back as zombies. In season 1 of the game, Telltale created their own story about a man named Lee, a sweet hearted man who takes control of a group of survivors, and particularly, a little girl named Clementine, who he saves from the zombies. In season 2, players will take on the role of Clementine, who is now with the remainder of Lee’s group from season 1.

Telltale Games is known for their games that are packed with great plots and an immense amount of emotional content. Episode 1 of The Walking Dead: Season  2 is no different. The end of the episode leaves the player in deep thought, ending on a huge cliffhanger. Episode 2 is scheduled to come out in a few more months, but if it is nearly as good as episode 1, this game will be as successful as its predecessor.

Even though there is a year between the development of the two games graphics are largely the same. Controls are smoother though, and controlling Clementine through the keyboard and mouse feels natural and easy to master, unlike the awful command prompts for season 1.

Even on a PC, usually the most stable machine when it comes to buggy games, has some minor, yet irritating errors. Some of the command prompts fall too close to the edge of the screen, and it is impossible to click the bottom action prompt which edges the main plot line along. Rifles will sometimes float mysteriously a few inches above a character’s hands, making for an entertaining conversation. Hopefully, by Episode 2, Telltale will have fixed the small errors in the
