Last chance for senior yearbook portraits

Last chance for senior yearbook portraits

Liz Schasel, Editor-in-chief

Mandatory senior Tux and Drape yearbook portraits will be taken on Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12 in the LHS auditorium lobby from 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.

“There are no retakes,” yearbook adviser Mary Woodruff said. “There is no other option if you miss one of those days.”

Seniors are encouraged to schedule an appointment for their portrait by creating an account on sign-up genius and selecting a specific appointment slot on Monday or Tuesday. Sign-ups will close the morning of Friday, November 8. Students who do not sign-up for a specific time slot will be able to have their portrait taken during lunch or during their science class.

“It’s here on campus, there’s no charge, and you can also order pictures from that if you want,” Woodruff said. “That’s your personal choice, and there will be a charge for that.”

Some seniors may have already had their pictures taken over the summer with the school’s previous company, CL!X Portraits. However, all seniors must have their photo retaken on campus with the new company, Don Painter, next Monday or Tuesday as the senior portraits must be uniform in style, lighting, background, and quality.

“The yearbook staff is very committed to the best quality we can achieve for the students,” Woodruff said. “The quality of the proofs we had before was extremely low across the board, so we had to make this decision.”

Previews will be available on the Don Painter website approximately two weeks after they are taken. A price list and ordering information will also be available at that time.

“It’s very important that students are there on those dates,” Woodruff said. “If you don’t get your picture taken here, you will not be on the senior pages in the yearbook.”
