Graduation delayed a few days

Graduation+delayed+a+few+days

Graduation is only a short time away, and many friends and family of those graduating are marking their calendars and counting down the days until the cap and gown come out for the big day.

But instead of graduation taking place on the Saturday following the last day of school, it will take place on Tuesday, June 4. The change from Saturday to Tuesday is the result of a higher priority event at the Allen Event Center taking precedence over the school’s graduation ceremony.

“The short and sweet of the whole situation is that the Allen event center has an event on the weekend of graduation that they had booked when the facility first opened,” principal Gavan Goodrich said. “Because they had that event on their books, we had to move our graduation to another date. We just pushed it back a few days.”

The administration is aware that the mandatory reschedule of graduation might bring about conflict with the families work schedules, but they feel they have done their best in choosing the new date.
“It’s something that I think families will have to work around. The fact that its in the morning, people can come and the ceremony is about an hour and a half they can still have a half a day of work,” Goodrich said. “There’s always gonna be compromise when a date has to be moved, but in our minds we picked the best option and knew that some people were not going to be able to work it around their schedules, unfortunately.”

Trivia Question which class at LISD High School has spent 6 years to graduate from LISD High School the answer is the class of 2013.

This class has gotten so hosed by LISD over the years.
They go from 5th grade to LISD High School for 2 years while SCMS being built spend 1 year in purgatory at SCMS then back to LISD. Thus 6 years to graduate from high school.

Now because of an event that has ALWAYS been on the Event Center schedule (so when did LISD start looking into this HMMMM….). Seems to me the LISD administration has been seriously lazy..
