Parking spot problems

Parking+spot+problems

In a rush not to be late to class, some students take the first parking spot they can find.  That’s not a problem at a place like the mall, but on campus, it’s a different situation as students have assigned parking spots.

“I like the idea of parking spaces, but I think they should also be more enforced than they are now,” senior Tom Campbell said.

Since it is difficult to enforce student parking spots, there isn’t a huge punishment.

“Usually what happens, if students don’t park in their assigned spots, is I’ll tell the principals who it is, and let them take care of it,” School Resource Officer Mark Mitchell said.

Although parking assignments work great when everyone uses them correctly, some students have had their spots taken, which causes a chain reaction of spot stealing.

“Parking spots eliminate problems, except when kids park in someone’s assigned spot that were there; that’s when it becomes a problem,” senior Grayson Williams said.

Not only are spots taken, but most students agree that seniors should have better spots, and should still be allowed to paint their parking space, if they have to pay for it anyways.

“The only thing they need to fix is allowing seniors to paint their parking spots again.” Williams said.
