Cirque du Majestique opens tonight, beginning the three night event of the Majestics Spring Show. With performances from the Manjestics, the LHS Jazz Ensemble, and the SCMS Color Guard, the circus-themed event will be a night to remember.
After hard work and time given to the production, it is time for the Majestics to show off their talent and dedication April 18, 19, and 20 at 7 p.m. in the LHS Auditorium.
“They started choreographing in November,” Assistant Director Rachel Gilbreath said. “I’m a little nervous because I really want it to go well for them for their last show of the year.”
The show is also bringing back the “Manjestics”, a tradition where the upperclassmen boys dance with the Majestics.
“I’m stoked, because I get to do cool dance moves,” junior Brad Jacobs said. “We’ve put in a lot of time, and I get to dance with beautiful women.”
The Manjestics will be performing both a guys-only and a guy-girl partnering dance.
“The guy-girl dance is really fun, more fun than the guy only dance,” Jacobs said. “We get to do really cool moves with the girls.”
Although it is a fun dance to perform, it is also nerve-wracking to be dancing with experienced dancers.
“I’m kind of nervous because a lot of people I know will be there,” Jacobs said. “I don’t want to mess up and drop the girl on her face.”
The kid and wallet-friendly event is perfect for all ages. Tickets are currently being sold at the LHS School Store or online at $10 for adults and $5 for students, LISD Faculty, and children.
“I’m excited, because they have worked so hard to get to this point,” Gilbreath said. “I’m excited for the community to see how hard they work all year.”
