‘Bake a Change’ a success

During all lunches Tuesday through Thursday, students can buy items from the ‘Bake A Change’ bake sale. All the money made from the bake sale goes to She’s The First, an organization helping girls be the first to graduate in developing countries.

Seniors Mackenzie Miller and Shaylyn Laney organized the bake sale and spent hours making posters and baking.

“It was a success, and I’m really glad we did it,” Miller said. “It was kind of spur of the moment, but it turned out really well.”

Miller and Laney got a couple of friends to help bake cupcakes making the bake sale a worthy event and a good time.

“It’s for a good cause and I had fun doing it,” senior Shaylyn Laney said.

The bake sale raised a total of $195 for the organization.

Greetings children. My name is Darby Darton Blaylock. I am 17 years old. I have been apart of the newspaper staff for 6 years now. I enjoy it for the most part. I love to fish and be outside. I will not watch any Nicholas Sparks movies. Ever. I listen to older rock, alternative music, and a little country here and there. I play soccer for Andromeda FC, and for the school. I am scared of ladybugs because when I was 5 I swear one bit me. I am a morning person, and I was voted most likely to wear track-shorts.
