A fun filled, professionally lighted, choreographed performance will be coming to the high school auditorium on Thursday, May 17 and Friday, May 18. The fourth and final choir concert of the year, Pop Show is an annual tradition.
“Pop show is a display of all the great pop music in the world,” assistant choir director Brooke Grall said. “It’s a different way for the choir to perform with singing and dancing, and just a lot of fun.”
This year’s theme is Guilty Pleasures, a topic chosen by the directors.
“[Choir director] Mrs. Green was actually inspired by an episode of the Sing-Off that was guilty-pleasures themed,” Grall said. “We thought it would be a great idea to take here and do our own version.”
The show is different from the other choir performances of the year, and will include songs ranging from recent hits, like Fun’s “We are Young,” to classic pop music like Backstreet Boys “I Want it that Way” or Shania Twain’s “Man I Feel Like a Woman.”
“The audience can expect pop music from every generation, that people from every generation can enjoy,” Grall said.
Both performances will feature a pre-show starting at 6:30, while the actually concert will begin at 7:00. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
To encourage a large audience, Grall has one simple statement.
“People should come to Pop Show because it’s awesome,” Grall said.
