Recycling event hosted at High School

If you have any electronic device that you are not using and are ready to get rid of, the school is hosting an e-waste recycling event in the back parking lot on Saturday, April 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The reason for the drive is to provide people with an environmentally friendly way to dispose of old electronics. When recycling old electronics, natural resources are conserved, greenhouse gas emissions and pollution are reduced, and energy and raw material resources are saved.

Anything that runs on batteries or electricity is acceptable. The event will be accepting:

–       Computers (laptops &desktops, servers, mainframes, monitors)

–        Printers, scanners, fax machines, copiers, toner and ink cartridges

–        Network devices (routers, hubs, modems)

–       Peripherals (keyboards, mice, cables, cords, chargers)

–       Tablets and E-readers

–       Components (hard drives, CD-ROMs, circuit boards, power supplies)

–       TVs, VCRs, DVRs, DVD players, digital converter boxes, cable/satellite receivers,

–       Portable music players, audio-visual equipment, video games

–       Cell phones, pagers, PDAs, answering machines

–       Batteries and UPS systems

–       Kitchen appliances (refrigerators, washers/dryers, microwaves)

–        Cameras

–       Fitness equipment

–       Medical equipment
