It’s official, The Weeknd has finally released his 6th studio album “Hurry Up Tomorrow” on January 31, 2025, and it’s everything fans could have hoped for. This is his last album in the trilogy, following his previous two studio albums “After Hours” and “Dawn FM”. This project has many special guest appearances from Travis Scott, Future, Playboi Carti, the queen Lana Del Rey, and many more. I recently found out that this project is supposed to symbolize the end of the name and persona of “The Weeknd” who is transitioning from this alter ego to his given name, Abel.
I listened to this album the morning it came out and I have zero complaints. The opening song “Wake Me Up” is a true masterpiece. He put glorious energy into this project and his vocals are just beautiful in my opinion. “Hurry Up Tomorrow” also features a popular single “Timeless” which happens to be one of my favorites of his newer songs. I thought the last song on the album “Hurry Up Tomorrow” was really cool because the ending ties into the first song on his first album “House of Balloons”. These songs coming together signified the end of “The Weeknd”. This was a really powerful ending to the trilogy.
All in all, I think this was perfect for being rumored as his last album, although I hope he doesn’t stop making music. I give this album a 8.5 out of 10. I highly encourage you to listen to this album all the way through, not one single song sucks.
