Senior Anna Barr has become well known around the school for her impressive nail business that she created stemming from her love for art. Intricate designs, fun colors, and genuine connections all for a lower price.
“My favorite part is the creativity because I’ve always loved art,” Barr said. “I can create new little art pieces on my nails every week.”
Barr started her business because she loved getting her nails done but didn’t love the expensive price. She wanted to save money and decided the best way to do this was by learning to do them for herself.
I’ve always loved getting my nails done and I wanted to save money by doing them myself,” Barr said. “I eventually got better at it then started to do my friends’ nails.”
Barr also mentioned that one of the reasons she loves her job so much is her client comradery. She forms authentic connections with her clients as she does their nails. Her clients have quickly become friends.
“I do enjoy talking to my clients because most of them are my friends,” Barr said. “We can catch up while they get their nails done.”
Clients of Barr really value her as a friend. Her friends are constantly pleased with her work and rely on her for a well done job.
“I love catching up with Anna, and I am always so happy with how my nails turn out,” client Grace Gonzalez said. “She has a set up in her art room with all her nail supplies. Her creativity is evident with art all around the room.”
Anna’s friends can always rely on her personal, home environment in contrast to a busy nail salon. Anna runs her business in a way that feels personal to her customers.
“She is one of my best friends and I enjoy talking to her and her mom,” close friend and client Shelby Burriss said. “Her house is a lot cozier than a normal nail place. She is also way more personable than most nail techs.”
Anna is deservingly well known for her business around the Lovejoy community for her talent and kindness that she shows to her clients and friends. To book an appointment with her, contact 972-523-2408.
“Anna learning to do nails is such a tedious process and it is so impressive,” Gonzalez said. “She spent months learning how to do them at the level she is at now. Everyone should go get their nails done by Anna!”
