Florence Pugh (Almut) and Andrew Garfield (Tobias) star in a new romance movie, “We Live In Time.” In this film, Almut and Tobias are brought together by an unexpected moment that changes their lives. As they go through life on a path opposed by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of their true love story.
This movie (as an Andrew Garfield super fan), was everything I could’ve asked for. If you haven’t had the chance to see it in theaters, I highly recommend renting it at home. Pugh and Garfield have an unmatched connection. I have never seen two actors seem so comfortable with each other, as if they have known each other their whole lives. They each take the character given to them and run with it.
Pugh is known for specializing in serious roles, and she nails it every single time. With her character Almut, she shows a strong independent woman who knows the goals she has and how she can get there. When Garfield’s character Tobias comes in, you get to see a shift in Almuts personality, and a softer side of her. Though it was subtle, Pugh mastered the energy shift in her character and it was beautiful to watch.
Garfield also takes his role to another level in this movie. He perfectly shows the feeling of despair when knowing your time with someone will come to an end. The movie has a lot in it that could feel like it’s manipulating your emotions and pulling your heartstrings, but I live for that. Being in a relationship can be trying at times, but this movie reminds us that it’s more than worth it in the end.
