Majestics won first runner up overall at the Crowd Pleasers DFW competition showcase on Sunday at the Delta Hotel in Allen.

“Every dancer pushed themselves to another level, and we grew as a team because of it,” senior lieutenant Alexa Barajas said. “We all worked hard to do the very best we could at the contest, and we did just that.”

The Majestics won first place for the Elite Jazz and Officer Lyrical competition. The team also won first runner up for Team Jazz, Team Hip Hop, Grand Champion team, Grand Champion Officer Group and Officer Jazz.

“I think that we did really well,” captain Sydney Spors said. “It felt super strong. Whenever we perform, you know how it feels at the end, like if you did well.”

This was the first and last competition of the competitive season for the Majestics. The spring show will take place April 15-17 for the team to showcase choreography and skills with new dance routines.

“It was so good to finally show the judges what we had been working on and it felt like all those long hours of practice were worth it,” Barajas said. “Getting to do what I love with the people that mean the most to me right by my side was a fulfilling experience to say the least.”
