With one week until spring break, students prepare for their week off from school. Students shared how COVID-19 affected their plans.
Sophomore Linnea Maddux
“I’m going to Jamaica all week. We had to take like three COVID-19 tests this past weekend in order to be able to get to the airport in the first place, and get our ticket to fly there and everything, so that affected a lot.”
Senior Lia Hopkinson
“I’m going skiing in Crested Butte. We had to get reservations a lot earlier because of their capacity limits, but other than that, skiing is pretty outdoorsy, and it covers everything.”
Sophomore Gabby Rodriguez Amaya
“We were thinking about inviting some friends and then going to Galveston. [COVID-19] didn’t really affect it much. We were just going to get a beach house and then just go to a beach by ourselves, so it would be very socially distanced.”
Junior Winston Falk
“My plans are probably just to hangout, not really doing much, so just spend time with family. [COVID-19] hasn’t affected much other than just spending more time with family because we were limited with that, just trying to keep it safe.”
Sophomore Malachi Liebl
“I’m going to see my grandparents in Colorado. They just got the vaccine. We were going to see my grandparents over the summer, but we couldn’t because of COVID-19.”
Freshman Phoebe Nelson
“I was going to go to Lubbock, but because of COVID-19, it affected my plans, and I wasn’t able to have fun with my family. I couldn’t meet up with them. [Now,] we are just staying home because we can’t go anywhere else.”
