I think we are incredibly fortunate to have a tool like Zoom. I have found that teaching online is incredibly challenging in some ways. For example, in my AP Statistics class, we do several labs, and I am having to figure out how to bring the fun of the labs into an online setting. I am finding tools that are more efficient for collecting data that I will continue to use even when we are not in crisis mode. I am surprised however that in some ways I like the Zoom setting better, because it teaches students to manage time and makes them more responsible for their learning. I also have found that I am getting to know students quicker, because I am seeing a picture with a name and have the opportunity to meet with more students in small group settings due to the way my online class is structured.
