Interview with players Sammie Basson and Morgan Streeter

The Red Ledger: Are you excited for your first year playing powderpuff? Are you intimidated, how are you feeling?

Morgan Streeter: I’m very intimidated.

Sammie Basson: Yeah, the seniors are very serious about it.

MS: But I mean, we can beat them.

TRL: The freshman last year had a bit of a struggle, do you think you’ll be able to do better than them?

SB: Yeah.

MS: Yeah, I think we can, yeah we’re good

TRL: Have y’all been practicing?

SB: Oh gosh.

MS: Um, we’ve tried to plan practices but it hasn’t really worked out, but we’re practicing on Monday, so hopefully that will make us good.

TRL: Do you see the seniors as big competition?

SB: Yeah because-

MS: People have said they’re really good.

SB: And they’re super serious about it, and I’m not really that serious about it.

MS: We gotta be serious.

TRL: Yeah the seniors are pretty intense–do you think you’re ready for that?

MS: I think we’re ready, their seriousness gives us motivation, so we’re gonna do good we’re gonna beat them.

SB: Easy.

MS: And then it will be a big deal like ‘oh my gosh the freshman beat the seniors,’ and then we’ll be like famous.

TRL: You seem to be feeling pretty confident, what’s giving you the confidence?

SB: Because we’re just better.

MS: Yeah just like in general, we are just better, freshmen are always better than seniors.
