Interview with coaches Noah Naidoo and Trent Rucker

The Red Ledger: Last year’s game was a tough loss, do you think you have what it takes to win this year?

Trent Rucker: 100%.

Noah Naidoo: You know, it’s whatever.

TR: We got some cocky girls though, so we’re gonna have to-

NN: We gotta do something right.

TR: Yeah we gotta do something right.

TRL: How are your coaching strategies changing from last year?

TR: More conditioning, a lot more conditioning.

NN: They’re running and they’re also doing a lot more drills in practice. We only had one practice last year. This year we are having more than one.

TR: We’re going to bench them if they mess around.

TRL: Some of your players said that you haven’t had a practice yet, and they said you’re a bit unorganized.

NN: Okay let me tell you something: we are busy men.

TR: Those girls got a mind of their own like they’re all one and they’re crazy, we gotta control them, it’s like herding a bunch of sheep.

NN: We are busy, period. We have our first practice tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. in the cold. Bring your hoodies girls, bring your hoodies.

TR: Oh yeah it’s going to be three hours, too.

NN: [To TR] Are you there, or are you still grounded?

TR: No I’m there, I got out of this grounding for this.

NN: That’s one of the reasons why we didn’t have practice.

TRL: Are the juniors going to be much of a competition?

TR: No.

NN: No.

NN: Luke Mayfield, I’m coming for you .

TRL: Are you feeling threatened at all?

NN: A little bit.

TR: Ralph, he’s got nothing on us.

NN: I love Ralph.

TR: He’s coaching this year and he can play, but his coaching ability, zero.

NN: I love Ralph.

TRL: So you’re feeling very confident, is there a reason for that?

NN: Last year we didn’t know what we were doing because we were freshman, but this year-

TR: We are coming out with a fire under our butts

NN: I got like a whole headset thing.

TR: Yeah, we got headsets, we’re going to be communicating, we got a whole clipboard, we’re ready.

NN: Arm bands, gloves, sleeves

TR: Gloves for every girl, sleeves for every girl. We’re gonna look good, play good.

NN: Feel good.

TR: Look good, feel good, play good.
