After coming off a 3-0 victory last week against Denton Ryan (2-6-2), the boys soccer team (10-2) will face the Wildcats of Sulphur Springs (4-5-1) tonight at home. The game is set to start at 7:15pm.

“Sulphur Springs is a pretty decent team,” senior Christian Kwon said. “We don’t know too much about them but it should be a good match up.”

Sulphur Springs is on a two-game win streak coming into the game tonight. The Leopards will look to slow them down as both teams roll into their district play. Sulphur Springs is an experienced team with eight seniors in the starting lineup.

“This is our last game before we start district next week, so the team is looking to get one last win before the games start to really count,” senior Brock Yeager said.

In last week’s win, goals were scored by senior Benji Merrick with two, assisted by Kwon and senior Trey Reiner. Junior Gavin Goodrich also had a lone goal assisted by junior Connor Tays.

“Last game we played really good on both sides of the ball, and the game had good flow and we got the win,” senior captain Max Pabin said.

Next Friday, the Leopards open up district play against district foe Wylie East (6-3). The Leopards defeated East in both matchups last season.
