With the 2016-2017 school year coming to an end, Student Council officer Paige Becker has unrolled a new plan to celebrate graduating seniors. Located outside the offices of college counselors Addison Snyder and Randy Trevino, the so called “Senior Wall” boasts pictures of graduating seniors with their after high school plans.

“The Senior Wall is going to be a huge wall with every seniors college or after high school plans on a little card with their name on it,” Becker said. “Last year there was a map with college stickers on it where the seniors went off to college, but I wanted to make something a little more personable for each student so they got more recognition.”

The goal for the Senior Wall is to spark a new tradition among seniors. The wall will feature both the colleges students will be attending as well as gap years, military enlistments, and other post-high school plans.

“Hopefully for student council every year we will get a group going and they’ll take this project on starting in February, probably,” Becker said. “We have made signs to make it (the senior wall) reusable.”

Every senior will get their chance to be on the Senior Wall by speaking to either college counselor.

“During school lunch this Wednesday and Thursday, college counselors will be sitting out at a table,” Becker said. “They are going to ask that any senior who knows where they are going to college is going to come up to the table and tell us, and then that’s how we get the information for their little note card. We will fill it out and put it up as soon as we know.”
