The baseball team (11-18-1 overall, 1-12 in district) travels to face Sherman in the final game of the season on Friday at 7:30 p.m. With it being the team’s last game, head coach Jason Wilson said he’s proud of what the seniors did this season.

I want to congratulate the seniors on their high school experience and wish them all the best as they head off to college,” Wilson said. “They are good kids and have bright futures.

Senior Andrew Keefer says that even though the season has one game left, he wishes everybody did one thing different.

“The one thing I wish I changed about the season is to try to get everyone to treat every game like it’s their last,” Keefer said. “One day it will be.”

Wednesday night, the Leopards fell to Denison High School 11-7 in the seniors’ last home game. Senior Bailey Bennett had a home run, and senior Michael Koval had a double and two RBIs. Keefer also had a big game with a double, home run, and four RBIs. Keefer made sure to make senior night count.

“The main point was to have fun with the boys,” Keefer added. “They definitely mean a lot to me, and I’ll remember them forever.”

Sherman is currently 4-8 in district, and the Leopards have a chance to end the season with a victory.

“It hasn’t been exactly what we thought it would to say the least,” junior Reed Fraser said. “Definitely a frustrating season but hopefully we can end the season on a win and do better next year.”
