On the Spot: Students comment on their ideal president
What qualities do you think the next president of the United States should have?
Sydney Wong, Staff Reporter

Freshman Ireland Miller
“[He should] be able to speak his own mind. [The first problem he should handle is] ISIS. He needs to stop ISIS from happening and stop war from occurring.”

Sophomore Autumn Purcell
“I think they should be honest and trustworthy and passionate, but still able to make tough decisions if it means it’s better for our nation.”

Junior Callie Holden
“I think the next president should have the will to be willing to fight all terrorists, things that are happening around the world right now, be ready to make our country more industrialized, and have better technology so we can be safer.”

Senior Will Wise
“I think the next president should have courage because that’s the most important quality. A lot of presidents don’t have courage. They just say stuff, they don’t really mean it. Courageous people, they always do what they say, and they always go out to do it.”

Senior Ben Omonira
“One of the most important characteristics should be the ability to serve because all of the best leaders serve, and I feel like if you pertain the population and you really try to attend the things that need to fixed and problems that need to be fixed, then you ultimately [fix] all of the things that are going bad in this economy and in the nation.”

Biology teacher Sadaf Syed
“There’s obvious characteristics like being honest, trustworthy, and a good person but also somebody who has new ideas that will contribute to a better society.”
